The picture of Louis of Bavaria in the Chronicle of Zbraslav and the Autobiography of Charles IV. Abstract The presented bachelor's thesis focuses on the personality of the Holy Roman King and Emperor Louis of Bavaria and his depictions in the chronicles of Czech origin from the time of Charles IV. The emphasis is placed on especially Chronicle of Zbraslav by Petr Žitavský and the autobiography of Charles IV. - Vita Caroli, which both enable the insight of Louises contemporeries - a church dignitary and the ruler himself. Also other chronicles from the time of Charles IV. are taken into consideration in the thesis. Written documents are used to verify the statements in the chronicles. The aim of the thesis is to assess, which facts about Louis of Bavaria are expressed in the chronicles, their context and how they are evaluated by their authors. At same time it is supposed to point out the absence of records of some important events and to try to figure out the reason of that. The thesis would like to contribute to describing the relation of Louis of Bavaria to Jan of Luxembourg and later also to his son Charles IV.
